Athletic director Greg McGarity announced Monday that linebackers Natrez Patrick and Roquan Smith passed drug tests and neither “violated any Athletic Association rules that would require suspension.”

Police were called to Patrick’s dorm room hours after the Bulldogs’ loss to Vanderbilt on Oct. 15 after a residence assistant smelled marijuana in the hallway. No marijuana was found at the scene and neither player was arrested.

Georgia had a bye last weekend and faces archrival Florida on Saturday in Jacksonville. The Bulldogs’ task against the 14th-ranked Gators would have been signficantly more difficult without either Patrick (42 tackles) or Smith (39 tackles).
